Practice Information

Practice Information

Season begins Tuesday July 30th for Fall Cheerleaders
All practices are held at Bay Head Park – 1661 Bay Head Rd. Annapolis MD 21409

The Fall Season runs through Football Playoffs - no later than November 30th
Practices are twice per week leading up to football games for one and half hours each, then after the first game they cut back to one practice per week for an hour.  Eventually we will be limited of day light and the temperatures will drop, at that time we will decide if outdoor practices will continue.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE –

From Tuesday July 30th though Thursday August 29th
ALL TEAMS will practice Tuesday and Thursday from 6:15-7:45pm

After Labor Day Weekend - Starting Thursday September 5th
ALL TEAMS will move back to once per week practice, each Thursday from 6:15-7:15pm

Practices will continue weekly as long as outdoor temperatures and daylight permit.

Practice Attire:
Outside practice can be hot even though it is in the evening, please ensure that your cheerleader is dressed in cool, light clothing.  Preferably cotton shorts and t-shirt or tank top, and athletic shoes.  No sports bras permitted to be worn at practices.  Refrain from clothes with zippers, no jean shorts, no flip flops and no jewelry.
What to bring to practice:

  • A bag to hold cheerleader belongings, backpack or draw string bag works best.
  • Water bottle (lots of water!) with your cheerleader’s name on the bottle
  • A beach towel – to be used when sitting in the grass
  • Bug spray/sunscreen – if desired – the bugs can get a little crazy

Game Day

Game Day

Cheerleaders cheer only at home games, located at Bay Head Park, the first games of the season are scheduled for August 24th, 2024.  The game schedule is usually posted the Tuesday prior to the first weekend of games (approximately August 20th).  The game schedule will then be provided to all families for the season leading up to playoffs.  Playoff schedule will be provided after the last week of regular season games.  All playoff games are played at AACO. High Schools and not at Bay Head Park.  Championship games require a spectator fee for entry.

Game Day Attire –
Cheerleaders should arrive at times provided by their head coach, wearing their game day T-shirt, black shorts or leggings and white athletic shoes.  Game bow should be worn in a high ponytail facing forward. Don’t forget to bring their poms!
Water bottles with a cheerleader’s name on them are great for the sideline, as they will get water breaks without leaving the field. Concessions are open at all home games to refill on water.
