Rider University Lacrosse Prospect Day Fall 2024
Date: September 15th 2024
Time: 9AM-12PM - Registration begins at 8:15AM (admissions tour to follow).
Age groups: 2025-2028 High School Graduating Classes
Cost: $175
Location: Ben Cohen Field, Rider University
Important: All Players should bring water/drinks and snacks- water will also be available on field. Players are required to have all of their own equipment including stick, mouth guard and goggles. Ben Cohen Field is a turf field facility.
Overview: Rider is excited to host its second ever Women's Lacrosse Prospect Day. Staffing will include current Rider coaches and players. Camp is an opportunity to be seen by and work with Rider lacrosse players and staff. Players will be able to showcase their ability in small group drills and game play throughout the session. Our prospect day is designed for you to elevate your skill while getting to know the Rider environment.
Head Coach Evan Mager- Evan Mager has spent all of his years coaching within NJ. Starting as the head coach at Morristown high school and spending 9 years there. Following Morristown High School, Coach Mager went on to coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he brought the first ever undefeated regular season, a Conference Championship, NCAA Appearance and Coach of the year honors for both Conference and Regional awards. He was named the first ever head coach at Rider University in October of 2023. Concluding the inagural season Rider finished with a 6-2 out of conference record, in its first ever season and an 8-9 overall record. Players earned all conference awards, IWLCA senior game selections and IWLCA academic awards and this was only year 1!
Associate Head Coach Cristina Maurizi- Cristina Maurizi joined the Broncs ahead of Rider's inaugural season. Before coming to Rider,Maurizi was the Associate Head Coach at Franklin & Marshall University, helping the Diplomats to the NCAA Division III Final Four, concluding the season with an 18-5 record in 2023. She was part of the group named the IWLCA Metro Coaching Staff of the Year. Maurizi brings extensive experience to the position as she spent the previous seven years as the head coach at Stockton University. During her time leading that program, the Ospreys boasted 59 victories and advanced to the three ECAC Tournament appearances. That postseason success included an ECAC Championship during the 2018 season. Maurizi also led Stockton to the NJAC playoffs on four different occasions.
Her tenure at Stockton was additionally highlighted by numerous program firsts that included wins against a number of perennial nationally-ranked teams. Her 13 wins during the 2016 season ranks as the highest in program history. Maurizi was named the NJAC Coach of the Year following that successful season. The multiple playoff appearances under her tutelage featured the first-ever postseason victories in that program’s history..
